Long Residency

ILR long residence permits those who have remained in the UK for over 10 years to remain in the UK permanently free from travel or employment restrictions. The long residence is a step towards British Citizenship.

To be eligible you must meet several requirements : 

• • You must have spent 10 years living in the UK both continuously and lawfully ( holding leave to enter, temporary admission or be exempt)
• • This 10 years cannot be broken by any form of absence including ( either 180 days at a time or 540 days in total)
• • You must demonstrate sufficient knowledge of English
• • You must pass the Life in the UK test
• • You must not be in breach of immigration laws

Applications are discretionary and given the eligibility requirements are met and acceptance is not contrary to public interest, applications are likely to be accepted/
