Graduate Visa

The Graduate Visa allows international students who have completed an eligible UK degree to stay and work for up to 2 years (or 3 years for PhD graduates). It is designed to provide flexibility for graduates to gain work experience, look for employment, or even start their own business in the UK.

Key Requirements:

  • You must be in the UK with a valid Student or Tier 4 visa.
  • Your university must confirm that you’ve successfully completed an eligible course, such as a bachelor’s degree, master’s degree, or PhD.

Visa Details:

  • Duration: 2 years (3 years for doctoral qualifications).
  • Application Fee: £822.
  • Healthcare Surcharge: £1,035 per year.
  • Work Rights: You can work in most jobs, be self-employed, or do voluntary work, but you cannot work as a professional sportsperson.

Restrictions:

  • The Graduate Visa cannot be extended.
  • You cannot access public funds.
  • Once your visa expires, you must switch to another visa category (e.g., Skilled Worker Visa) if you wish to remain in the UK.

The Graduate Visa provides a clear route for students to gain practical experience and explore career opportunities within the UK after completing their studies.
